Hundreds and thousands of people turned up at the Singapore Zoo for the special memorial service for Ah Meng, our beloved Orang Utan, and to see her for the very last time.
Many turned up with flowers to bid Ah Meng goodbye

The crowd kept coming in and the queue to see Ah Meng’s body snaked all the way to the far end that the memorial had to start late at 11.20am. It had been an emotional moment, with many shedding tears after seeing Ah Meng. After the delivering of eulogies by Ah Meng’s boss and Sam, her caretaker for 36 years, the public were invited to offer flowers to her grave.

P.S: We are deeply saddened to learn about another baby Orang Utan Atina’s freak accident barely a week after Ah Meng’s departure! 😦 May Atina rest in peace with Ah Meng!
